The origins of classic beer styles go back centuries, mostly from the rich and diverse cultures of Europe. But here in Ontario, craft brewers have created their own highly personal world-class recipes — inspired by tradition and perfected by craftsmanship. Each one of our more than 100 beers achieves its unique character and taste using one of these famous brewing techniques.
Lager
Craft Brewed lagers are generally crisp and refreshing, ranging from golden to black in colour. They can be light, medium or full flavoured, and possess rich aromas. The name Lager comes from the famous German process of aging beer after fermentation (lagering) at very cold temperatures. Lagers are among the most popular styles of beer, and Ontario craft brewers offer a range, including blonde, amber and dark.
